Announcement of Awards at the 107th Nanbu Toji Sake Appraisal Competition (2025)

[About the Nanbu Toji Sake Appraisal Competition]
The Nanbu Toji Sake Appraisal Competition is held annually in Iwate Prefecture with the aim of improving sake brewing techniques and enhancing the skills of brewers.
The 2025 Brewing Year marked the 107th competition since its first event was held in 1911. The competition was held in two categories: Ginjo Sake and Junmai Sake.
A total of 564 entries were submitted from 126 breweries nationwide, including 256 Ginjo sake entries and 308 Junmai sake entries.
The judging was conducted by a panel of 25 experts, including sake examiners from the National Tax Agency and Regional Taxation Bureaus, as well as researchers from guidance institutions such as the Iwate Industrial Research Institute.
